  • Will Nimue work for me?
“I have tried other cosmeceutical skin care products for my concerns and they haven’t worked.” The honest answer is ‘it depends’. There are many factors that contribute abnormal skin functioning and incorrect products is just one of them. In short, I have a 90% success rate with my own clients using Nimue products alone and 95% success rate when combined with professional treatments for the most persistent cases.
  • How long do I need to use the product for to see results?
Clients will start using Phase 1 which is cleanser, conditioner, day cream, night cream and SPF during daylight hours. This stage lasts 4 weeks and clients typically see at least 30% improvement during this time. Following 4 weeks, Phase 2 commences where one extra product is introduced every other evening under the night cream. This phase gives an additional 20% improvement over 2-4 weeks. Most clients will stop here unless they require further results. As mentioned, 10% of clients will want to see additional results where we can introduced our more advanced peels.
  • How much will it cost?
It’s impossible to give an overall cost as every client will have a slightly different treatment plan. Sometimes a client will start on the products and not need any other treatment. Treatment plans and costs are given during your consultation.
  • What ages can you treat?
Products are suitable from age 10 and peels are suitable from age 18.
  • My skin is sensitive. Will I still be able to use the products?
Yes but you’ll need to desensitise the skin with Nimue’s Interactive range first before treating any other concerns e.g. acne or wrinkles.
  • I am under the care of a doctor for my skin already, can I still have treatments?
It depends which medication you are taking. As guidelines change frequently regarding antibiotic and tretinoin use, it’s important to book a consultation to get the most up to date advice. I will never advise you to discontinue a medical product that has been prescribed for you. If you feel as though your medication is not working for you, it’s important to seek your doctor’s advice before discontinuing and trying a different skin care.
  • What does the transitional period entail when starting with Nimue?
New clients who use Nimue often experience a certain imbalance in the skin during the first 4-6 weeks - this we call the transitional period.
  • What is the transitional period?
The transitional period can begin to show on the skin within the first 2-4 weeks of using Nimue home care products, and will usually last up to 4-6 weeks. The symptoms of this period may vary from person to person. You may notice: Increased sebum production, extra dryness or slightly scaly skin, eruptions and / or underlying blockages that move to the surface, increased sensitivity, hyperpigmentation may appear darker at first, and capillaries may also look more visible in the beginning. The improvements in the skin are due to the active ingredients in the Nimue program and are completely normal and actually expected. Think of it as a 'detox' for the skin. Switching to a new skin care brand is not always without problems. No two brands are the same, and this is especially true of Nimue, which aims to treat the cause of the skin condition and not just soothe the symptoms or soothe it on the surface. Re-educating the skin to be perfectly healthy, self-hydrating, strong, firm and sebum balanced takes time, especially after years of using classic skin care that gives the skin "what it asks for" instead of what it actually needs! Always see the transition to Nimue as revolution. After the riots, stabilization will come - have patience and confidence in the philosophy.
  • What is the difference between classic skin care and a cosmeceutical?
Traditional skin care takes minimal regard of really rejuvenating an ageing skin and there is no natural stimulation of the skin's health. The focus is most often on nourishment and surface beautification.  One of the skin conditions caused by both external and internal factors is dehydration, which leads to visible wrinkles and lines on the skin - ageing skin. The face is the first to show these signs of ageing. With traditional skin care, there is no natural stimulation of the skin's glycosaminoglycans (GAGS) and thus no stimulation of natural moisture production. Traditional skin care will focus solely on adding moisture with serum and moisturiser - the skin often requiring more and more over time - the cosmeceutical approach would be to train the skin to produce internal moisture at the same time itself. The same approach is used for dryness resulting in years of consumption of progressively fatter moisturizers and an eternal search for the next, even richer moisturizer that can satisfy the skin.
  • What else can I do to improve my skin?
All skin classifications can benefit from avoiding sun exposure, refraining from smoking, eating a balanced diet, ensuring you get adequate sleep and managing your stress levels.
When you are using Nimue it is important that you stick only to using Nimue products at home. If you’re a product junkie it may be tempting to add in more active products, this will result in over treating the skin which can result in impairment to the skin barrier and can cause post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. If you are using Tretinoin, Accutane, Cortisone or high dosages of Vitamin A, you can only use the Nimue Sensitive Range.
  • How does Nimue Refill System work?
Nimue is one of the only skincare brands globally to offer a refill system. This unique feature ensures that consumers only have to pay for Nimue’s elegant and premium packaging once and thereafter can save as much as 30% on buying the refills. Not only good for one’s pocket but great for the environment. This feature is currently available on Nimue’s top sellers: cleansers, conditioners, exfoliating enzyme, active lotion and active gel. There are plans to extend the refill feature to many more Nimue top sellers soon so watch this space.
  • What is Mesotherapy nappage?
Mesotherapy Nappage is a natural and safe non-surgical treatment. It is an alternative to cosmetic procedures and is often known as the Celebrity Red Carpet Facial. Nappage is a seris of micro-injections that deliver microscopic quantities of traditional pharmaceuticals, vitamins, minerals, growth factors, biomimetic peptides and amino acids into the skin to target specific conditions providing instant hydration and radiance.
  • What are the benefits of Nappage Mesotherapy?
There are a few specific benefits to this rejuvenating treatment: • Improved skin hydration and elasticity • Reduction of fine lines • Brighter more radiant complexion • Helps to reduce puffiness and dark bags under the eyes
  • How does Nappage Mesotherapy work?
This cocktail of products is what provides instant hydration and radiance. You are delivering everything your skin needs transdermally. Which is a series of tiny pinpricks evenly spaced all over your face. By systematically distributing these products directly into the skin by a needle the results are significantly better. In both skin results and how fast the results show. It outperforms dermal application - think skin creams. Also taking these products orally would not be an option as the digestive system would break most of them down.
  • Why should I have Mesotherapy?
Nappage Mesotherapy has been around for many years but has not always been widely used in the UK. It gives the skin a supercharged boost and is an incredible treatment for deep dermal hydration. Great for a one-off facial or pre-makeup application for that big night out or event. A course of treatments will help to soften lines and wrinkles, brighten tired dull skin, tone and tighten sagging skin.
  • What is the treatment process?
If you are a new client a skin consultation will be conducted. I will always ensure you understand the process and then start. I will then administer the treatment which will be a series of tiny pinpricks into the skin of your face. Which delivers a droplet of the skin cocktail. This is uniformly delivered across your face to create almost a grid pattern of tiny droplets of skin on your face. This is exactly what your face should look like. Once completed the excess is wiped away. With the treatment done you are free to go about your day.
  • Is it painful?
Not at all. No more than a mild prickly sensation. The needle used will not puncture deep enough into the skin to cause pain. It is also very fine, so it will cause little or no damage to the skin. No anaesthetic cream is needed or pain killers. There is no downtime, you are free to carry on with your day straight after a treatment. Makeup can be applied afterwards. In a perfect world, we recommend mineral makeup.
  • After effects and aftercare
There are not really any after-effects to Mesotherapy. Your skin will most likely feel a little tingly. This is perfectly normal, as there are lots of nutrients in the skin. We would also advise staying out of direct sunlight if possible for an hour or two afterwards and applying a high SPF sun cream if you do you go out. There is no regime or aftercare needed. You can just enjoy the results!
  • How many treatments are recommended?
A course of treatment is recommended, 6 sessions every 2 weeks then one treatment every 2 months to maintain results. This is also suitable for a special occasion as a one off treatment.
  • What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a skin therapy that comfortably treats acne scars, surgical scars, burn scars, traumatic scars, wrinkles, and skin discoloration. During this procedure, the raffine pen is used to create controlled superficial micro-channels to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin, incorporating a growth factor serum for an even greater stimulation of collagen production. Topical creams and serums penetrate deeper into the dermis to help improve the appearance of the skin.
  • Is there downtime involved following a Microneedling treatment?
Generally no, but you may experience facial redness like a moderate to severe sunburn for 12-48 hours after the treatment. Most people are able to return to normal daily activities immediately after the treatment. Patients can apply mineral make up as a breathable camouflage to cover any redness in about 24 hours.
  • Does a Microneedling treatment hurt?
The micro-needling treatment protocol is designed to be a comfortable procedure. Because i take the extra time to use a topical anesthetic, i am able to provide a more effective treatment with little, if any discomfort. Most people have commented they feel nothing but a mild vibration.
  • How quickly are results visible?

Very often the results are visible immediately after the treatment, especially for dry and dehydrated skin. Since epidermal cell renewal takes about 28 days, we can expect the ultimate treatment effects to be visible after that period. Skin continues rejuvenating after this point, with collagen production continuing up to three months after treatment. Rejuvenated skin can generally be seen 6-8 days following procedure, with continued results over time. A course of at least 3 micro-needling sessions is usually recommended to achieve optimal results; however, mostly everyone notices a healthy glow to their skin the next day after their treatment.
  • Is Microneedling safe?
The procedure is minimally invasive, which means that there is little downtime and the healing process is quick. Aftercare is also very simple and can be fully administered at home.
  • Are there any side effects or risks associated with skin needling?
Side effects experienced with micro-needling will usually subside within 48 hours. They include redness of the skin, stinging, itching and tightness of the skin.

  • What happens during the treatment?
Following an initial double cleanse and enzyme peel, there are 2 steps involved with the galvanic current. The first part of the treatment is a deep cleanse called Desincrustation, where a special negatively-charged pre-treatment is applied to clean, dry skin. This is great for rebalancing the skin. The second part of the treatment, sometimes called Iontophoresis, involves the ingredients in the gel pushed deeply into your skin using the device which safely conducts the positive and negative electrical currents. Skin is then treated with a high frequency current. When applied to the skin's surface, this gentle electrical current passes through the glass electrode emitting a soft glow and buzzing sound that's described sometimes as a therapeutic zapping sensation. This healing electrical energy and oxygen transform into purifying ozone. These oscillating currents promote a rapid blood flow in the concerned areas treating aged or damaged skin. The subtle warming effect on the tissues results in firm and toned skin. The high-frequency current helps in treating medical skin conditions, including acne and skin lesions. Additionally, it recovers sagging skin and puffy eyes. With a multitude of benefits, this device may be effectively used over the entire body.

Not to mention, significant reduction in the signs of over contracted muscles which lead to frown lines, crows’ feet and smile lines. Other benefits of micro current include: The increase of collagen synthesis and fibroblastic activity, improved blood circulation and lymphatic drainage and increased skin cell renewal. With the inclusion of the Silhouette Dermafusion products and treatment methods, we can increase product absorption rate and depth by up to 100% when utilised with the Microface intense unit.
